Sneak Peek Sunday!!

And Happy Mother's Day too!

I hope everyone is having a great day. It is beautiful here today - the sun is out and it might even get warm. I think a picnic lunch may be just what we need today.

I just love sneak peek Sunday. So without any more stalling let's get to the good stuff. Here is the sample for the Memory Scrapbook kit for May. I choose to feature Autumn Leaves "Whirligig". It is very Springlike and fun. Just a quick little FYI about this layout. The white squares are not mats for your photos they are designed to show where unmatted photos would sit.

And for this months "It's all in the Cards" kit I choose Making Memories "Animal Crackers". I have paired it with some really cool rub-ons and ribbons that make it so much fun to work with. Take a look...

You can't really tell from the picture (might have to retake it), but I cut out the star in the upper right corner to create an aperture and I have set in an epoxy star on the inside of the card that shows through when the card is open.

The kits will officially be available at the webstore on the 15th. So you have a few more days to wait before you can get your hands on them.
I hope you enjoyed today's sneak peek and someone has taken very good care of you today for Mother's Day.

Top 5's

I haven't done a top 5 in a while so I thought today I would do more than one Top 5 list

Top 5 reasons I scrapbook....

  1. Memories are too important to be stuck in a box or an old album to be destroyed.
  2. When I pass away I want my children, grand children and great-grandchildren to know about the family that came before them, who we were and what we valued or cherished.
  3. I am saddened when I view my grandparents albums and no one knows the stories or people in them.
  4. Scrapbook supplies are pretty darn cool and fun to play with (so much for being insightful).
  5. Scrapbooking and crops are all social gatherings to meet new friends, share new technique and of course create new memories to scrapbook.

Top 5 reasons I love kit clubs....

  1. Everything is co-ordinated - no digging through boxes and bins of stuff trying to find the right colour cardstock or brad.
  2. You get to tryout small portions of products that you may not have seen or tried before.
  3. Kits will get you to use a design of paper or you may not have picked out yourself.
  4. A good kit club offers sketches and design ideas for the time crunched scrapper or help you break out of design rut.
  5. Each month you can get a box in the mail filled with great goodies or pick up you collection from your store.
  6. Oh, let's make it 6. Kit clubs are not just for scrapbooking, you can get them for cardmaking too.

You can check out this months kits from Remember This! Scrapbooking.

I would love to know some of your reasons for scrapbooking or your favorite reasons for joining a kit club. Post your list here and your name will be entered to win blog candy. I have chosen a fabulous chipboard book by Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs. The one I have chosen spells out "Summer". You have until May 1st to get your posts in.

Packing, Packing, Packing... Are you packing?

So, I am happily packing up the store for tomorrows (April 19th) crop. I love crops. For me they are a big social event. What could possibly be better than hanging out with the girls for 12 hours, having someone else prepare lunch, dinner and my afternoon snack and then have that person do the dishes. Sounds blissful doesn't it?

If you have never attended a crop - mine or another stores- you really should. They are a hotbed of creativity and sharing. If you are ever stuck for ideas, just take a look at an album created by someone and you will discover new uses for products and design ideas you may not have thought of. All appears to be fair in love and scraplifting.

As part of you 2008 "to-do list" put attend a crop on it. Here is my calendar of events. Hope to see you at a crop very soon.

Sneak Peek Sunday!

This has to be the absolute best day of the month....ever! Sneak Peak Sunday. Are you curious? Do you check my blog on the days leading up to it to see if I post early???? Well here you go, this months kit layout designs.

First up... The Scrapbook Memory Kit.

This month I have chosen to feature Kaiser Craft. This is an Australian

company fairly new to Canada. The featured line is Elegance. I love the aged heritage look of these papers. I have already planned out how I want to use these papers to do a layout about my Grandparents wedding. This is the sample layout I dreamed up for you all to use this month.

And this months card kit is just as much fun. I went with Scrapworks Florabella. It is a nice group of papers that turn into beautiful cards. I definitely plan to use up every last bit of this kit.

To see the monthly kits in their entirety go here, learn about the clubs here , or order your kits here. Remember if you want to order on-line and then pick up your order - just put local pick up in the comments section when you submit your cart.

I hope you have enjoyed this quick look at the kits for April.

It's here!

I am always so excited when this magazine comes out. They always have such great ideas and wonderful creations.

As I was flipping through it I noticed that on page 56 there is a card using one of the papers from the February "It's all in the Cards" kit. And I love the idea. It is definitely something I am going to have to try out.

Page 43 also features the papers from the March Scrapbook Memory kit.

There is also a great article about how to colourize your design. Just another way to make your pages or card stand out from the rest.

Like I said I love this magazine and the absolute best part is that it is free for all my customers. Simply stop by and pick up your copy today. They won't last long. If you can't make to me, the entire magazine is on line. So are all the previous issues.

Please remember that orders are pulled in the chronological order, so if you wait too long you will miss out.

April Fools Day Sale!

Okay, so I have been a crazy little fool and working very hard to get everything ready for this sale. Can you believe that in less than 24 hours you can get $4.10 shipping in Canada on order over $41. US orders will be $9.00 for orders over $41.

Are you wondering why I picked 41 as my magic number for the day? Easy fourth month, first day. You should see what the 1st, 4th, and 41st customers will get as a bonus to their online orders. I'll post who the lucky people are and what goodies I added to their boxes after the sale.

Kits will be moving very quickly too. You can mix and match kit clubs. Your first kit will be $3.00 off, after that it just gets better. Buy two kits and each kit is $4.00 off. Buy 3 kits and each kit is $5.00 off and finally buy 4 or more kits and you will save a huge $6.25. I will adjust the prices when the order is processed. I haven't quite figured out how to do this with the store - maybe next year. Kit sale is also in-store.

There is a special section of one day only sale items. Quantities are limited and at 12 midnight PST these prices are gone.

Every order will have a special gift included with it. Free scrapbook goodies - could it get any better?

In-store sales include a special 41% off section, the great savings on kit clubs, gift with purchase and a draw for a special goodie bag.

Plus there is still 24 hours, you never know what else I may decide to add to the fun. Make sure you check out the webstore or stop by for a shop.

I not a good blogger.

I've been informed by a good friend that I am not a very good blogger. Apparently I don't blog enough and I totally agree. Sometimes I just don't know what to say or I don't have anything relavant to pass on. Of course all of you could help me out by sending me a jpg or two of your creations. (Email them to: tracey@rememberthisscrapbooking.ca) They can be using the goodies in my kits or any other great stuff you find. Please let me show case your wonderful talent and have something more to talk about. I have a layout I am working on and with some luck I may be able to post it later this weekend.

I also though in my attempt to try and be more "blog friendly" I would post about some good things and try to redeem myself. Sooo.....

The first part of my little note today is about Relay for Life. (This link will take you to the BC Relay for Life website) I have a wonderful friend who participates every year, in fact her family forms an entire team. It is an inspirational way to do something that may very well benefit you, a family member or a very close friend. Cancer doesn't pick and choose who it will effect, so you never know how it may touch your life. I actually have many friends that are taking part, but I asked my friend Lorie if I could put a link to her donation page and she kindly agreed.

If you are not comfortable with doing a donation online or would prefer to donate to your local community, please take the time to find a participant. Trust me there are many, many communities taking part and the number of participants and volunteers is astounding. Finding a participant will be very easy or you can tie up your shoes and walk a lap too.

The second little goodie to talk about is an April Fool's Day sale in store and on-line. Some of the details can be seen here. More details will be posted as the sale starts, but if you really just want all the info to land in your email box take a moment to sign up for my newsletters. I will also post all the information right here on my blog (see another blog entry. Go me!) And then Tuesday April 1st you just need to make sure you head to the online store or stop by to shop in-store for foolish savings and great fun. You won't be disappointed. I promise.

I'm going outside to enjoy the sunshine while I can and then I will be adding more items to the online store. Have a great weekend!

Sneak Peek Sunday!

Okay so here is a quick look at the sample layouts for March. First up is the Memory kit. This month I am featuring Basic Grey's Two Scoops. I have changed it up a little and moved away from the love theme of the matching embellishments and added a bit more of a fun and fresh feel. I hope you like this kit as much as I do. Order your kit today.

For March the "It's all in the cards" kit has a distinctly Asian feel and it has a wonderful Earthy feeling of tranquility and serenity. The papers are by 7Gypsies and the fantastic Asian symbol rub-ons are by Far and Away. This is a fun kit to work with and has great potential. Order your kit today.

The first card is a simple love card, which I think is classy and elegant.

Card number two is a bit more whimsical. If you can't read the quote clearly it says "he who travels, must travel light". I love it. This would be a great card to wish someone a great vacation or if you were giving the gift of travel to someone this card would work perfectly to enclose the give voucher.

After you have worked with your kits make sure you send me a picture. I would love to give you credit for all your hard work and feature your creativity. You know one kit, many looks kind of thing.

Sneek Peak Sunday!!!

So are you curious about the kits for February. These are the sample for the kits. Let's get started with the Memory kit. Completely boy inspired, not an easy thing to do in the scrapbook world. Trust me no flowers and no pink in this kit. I chose the fun and fresh Jack by Dream Street Designs. Here is the sample layout for this month....

If you like the style of these papers you should check out the April Memory kit from last Spring. It is the beautiful Bailey's Garden. I still have one or two of these wonderful kits.

And of course the two cards for the "It's all in the cards" kit. While it may still be snowing like crazy. Enough already!! I decided to try and welcom Spring. This monts kit is bright and fun. It features beautiful Spring inspired papers by Doodlebug.

I still have a few more donation cards to post. That will be my project for the next few days.

I hope you have enjoyed this months Sneak Peak Sunday. Don't forgets kits are available on the 15th. Reserve your order early to avoid disappointment.

And one last post for todays cards. I hope that I get to do a bunch more of these posts before the end of the month. They are so much fun. I love showing off everyones great, creative accomplishments.

Here are more of Kari Ollenbergers cards.

And Therese Savoie donated these two cards. I don't know where she found the Hershey's kiss papers, but they make for a very cute card.
Again thank you to everyone who has donated cards so far. I really appreciate the time you have all taken from your busy schedules to assist me with this project.
Tracey
And more cards! Yippee!

So my wonderful friend Kari Ollenberger donated so many cards I have to split them into two post. And she says she's not a card maker, but I think her cards are beautiful. Thank you Kari for taking time to create these great cards.

The rest of Kari's cards will be in the next post.

Tracey
I have more cards to show

Let's see what the latest group of donated cards looks like. I'm very happy with them and they gave me some great ideas for some more of my own cards.
These first two cards were donated by Julie Ridgway. Thanks Julie!
Sharlene Barger donated these three cards. Thanks Shar I'm so glad you were able to donate some cards.
Don't run away just yet I have more cards to post.

I did it! I really did it.

Okay I think I might have finally caught up to all the cards.

This great butterfly card is another one from Sandra Shippit. And the next two cards are from Terri Bowles. And the final two are by me. I figured I should get the rest of the cards I have on hand posted since I have heard this nasty rumor, just joking, fantastic news that there are more cards coming my way. I can't wait to see them.

And if you are still thinking about donating cards you still have a few more days to send or bring them in. Check back to see more card posts and maybe a bit of the great scrapbook info I have been researching.

Tracey
And an entire post dedicated to the beautiful works of Sandra Shippit. And because I still haven't found a way to post more than 5 pictures I will put Sandra's 6th card in my next post.

Cards, Cards, Cards and even more Cards!

So this is the last of the huge collection of cards from Karen and Shelagh.

This next group of wonderful cards were donated by Robbe VanKoghnett.

Stay tuned there is still more.

Tracey
And More Cards......

Continuing the feature of all the great cards from Shelagh Badge and Karen Menz. And I still have more cards from Karen and Shelagh . See the previous post.
