Merry Christmas
So where should I start? I guess a good place to start would be to show of the Christmas card I sent to my family. I used Basic Grey paper (Dasher line), Prima pressin' petals covered with Ranger Adirondack Metallics paint dabber in Pearl (I love the look of this stuff), Bazzill Brads, a silver spiral clip by Making Memories, red stitched grosgrain ribbon, a fabulous stamp by Anita's and of course silver embossing powder. If I don't say so myself it is a beautiful card and as usual the photo doesn't do it justice.
I also have an invitation for you to join me in celebrating my 3rd anniversary in business and my 35th birthday (but if anyone asks I'm only 29). So here's the deal..... I want to send happy wishes to others as part of my celebration and this is what I need you to do. Send me an original card of your own creation and I'll send you a coupon for $5 off any 2007 Remember This!Scrapbooking kit (memory or card). Your cards will be featured here on my blog and all cards received will be donated to Children's Hospitals in Canada and to Terraceview Lodge. All the details are here. So this is the perfect chance to tryout one of my great kits at a great price with no commitment, do something to brighten someone else's day and get your work featured in cyberspace. So start creating so you can start saving and I can have new goodies to feature on my blog daily. Common I'm waiting!
And just a quick reminder that the first crop for 2008 is on January 20th. More details here. Join all your scrapbook friends for a fun day of creating.
Check back here often to see the cards I am hoping to feature. You never know your card could be the first.
Happy scrapping,
Tracey

Okay so I resisted for a while, but I finally took a step forward and now I am pleased to offer the payment option of Paypal with the online store. So needless to say shopping just got easier. That means it is time for you all to check out my store and do a little online, pre-christmas shopping. Yes, you can call that a shameless plug, but I can't help it. I am thrilled to be able to offer another service for all of you to meet your scrapbooking needs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful work everyone did on their mittens for my little creativity contest. I am completely and totally inspired to create. Unfortunately, this picture doesn't do justice to all the great work

Here are a few more sample cards using the November "It's All in the Cards" kit.
I've made 7 cards so far, two of them are repeats, so you don't need to see them, and I am pretty sure that I will be creating another 3-5 cards from this kit. I don't know about you, but 13 cards makes a bit of a dent in the cards I need to send out this holiday season.
Enjoy the preview.

I know you have been waiting for the Sneak Peeks of this months kits. So here we go.....
This is the sample layout for the November Memory Kit. I can't wait to build more pages using this months kit.
And these are two of the cards I have created using this months "It's All in the Cards" Kit. They really are much nicer in person and for some reason the colours on the second one are a bit weird. I will try to fix that so you can see how great this kit really is.
I should be posting additional sample cards for this months kits later this week and if things go really well I'll get the photos for the card class up later this week too. Pop back often to see what I have been working on. And of course I would love to see what you have been working on and post it on my blog to share with everyone.
Happy creativity,
Tracey

And the fact that now it's time to get scrapbooking and paper crafting again. For 2 days only (Friday November 2nd & Saturday November 3rd) you can get some cool savings on both of my kit clubs. Buy any 2 kits and get a 3rd kit at 1/2 price. To get in on the savings you just need to catch up with me at the Kitimat Craft Fair or order online.
The number of kits is most definitely limited so don't wait too long to get your order in. Once these kits are gone they won't be recreated.

More ideas using the October "It's All in the Cards" kit....
I have had some requests for more ideas, in addition to the ones that come with the kit. So this is what I have come up with. I hope they inspire you to create.
And if you find the time please send me images of your layouts or cards I would love to feature them here on my blog. Think of it as a great chance to be famous and show your work to others.

I have been thinking about this for a while. Every month so many of you pick up either Memory Kits or "It's all in the Cards" kits and I would love to see what you create. Actually I'm not the only one who would like to see, I have had other kit club members comment that they are curious to see what fellow club members are creating. Sooooo, if you have time and want to share your layouts or card creations please feel free to email them to me and I will post them here on my blog and in the gallery on my website.
Here are the rules for getting published.
- Scan or take a photo of your layout.
- Email it to me with the kit month in the subject line. (If you are not sure of the month I may be able to help you with that).
- Include any special techniques you used
- Check back to see if you are famous.
Start sending your layouts.

Let's talk about my top 5 tools for scrapbooking. We all have our faves. I thought I would share mine.
1) Xyron 150
I know the X150 has been around for.... forever. But come on you have to give this baby it dues. I love it, I always have. It is perfect for putting adhesive on ribbon. Re-applying adhesive to an item that has lost it's sticky (stickers, chipboard, etc.) I put tons of stuff through mine - buttons, spiral clips, chipboard, ribbon, cork, vellum. I could go on and on.
2) Crop-a-dile
It doesn't matter if it is pink or lime green. You can't beat the ability of this tool to work through tin, stacks of chipboard and of course squishing all those eyelets that we have around from the days before aluminum eyelets. If you haven't had a chance to play with the crop-a-dile you really should. It looks awkward, but it does the job.
3) Tacky Tape & Glue Dots
Nothing beats a really good "sticky situation". Tacky tape is one of those adhesives that means it. If you are going to use tacky tape you had better know exactly where you want the item because there is no do-overs. But once your embellishment is stuck, you can count on it never falling off.
Glue dots just make me happy. Did you know you can cut them in half, if you want a slightly smaller piece? This works best with the ones on the sheets. Leave the front and backing covers on, cut in half and then apply as you normally would. Plus glue lines are ingenious for adhering ribbon as well.
4) Becky Higgins Sketch Books
Her second book is my favorite of the two I have. I love the fact that the sizes of the pictures are included in each sketch. Talk about a great way to "power scrapbook" - not sure if that is a real term, but it is now. "Power scrapbooking" shall forever been know as "to create numerous pages in a limited time frame, while ensuring that each one is different from the preceding or the latter." I can't wait to take a look at Becky's third book.
5) Kits
Okay this may be a grey area, but I really do consider kits to be a tool. Any scrapbooking product that makes your scrapbooking easier, faster, more creative and more enjoyable is a tool. A good kit is easy to use with well co-ordinated and uniquely grouped products, supplied in a quantity that is easily consumable. Other enhancements like added sketches and sample layouts make a kit even better and easier to use.
I do have other tools that I would like to list, but I am trying to stick with 5. But if I did get to list more some of the would be: Cuttlebug, Clear Stamps, Acrylic Stamp Blocks, Basic Grey Precision Files, Xyron Adhesive Runner.......... Maybe next time I'll go for 10, although I don't think 10 would be enough either. Time to go check my tool kit to see which tools I'll have to discuss when I'm ready to do a list of 10.
Send me a list of your favorite scrapbook tools. I would love to find out which ones you can't live without.

So lets take a look at what I have going on. First I have have to say I am very proud of myself I think this month you are all going to be thrilled with what is available in store.
For September I have created two, yup, that's right two memory kits. The main kit is Piggy Tales Hansel. It is a great collection of boyish paper by a wonderful little company that is making a splash in the scrapbook world. And to be honest not very many scrapbook stores are carrying Piggy Tales yet. Yet is definitely the key word. So I am so excited to be one of the few offering Piggy Tales. Take a look at Hansel.
And then there is this months bonus kit, because if you have Hansel you have to have Gretel. This kit is available in very limited quantities, so if you want the Gretel collection you should reserve it before the September 15th release date. Email or go my store to get your name put on one.
Now I want to show you this month's It's all in the Cards Kit. Trust me it has great potential. I know I am having a great time designing cards from it.
Here are two of the cards I have made so far.I hope they inspire you to go create. Check back soon for more updates.

I thought it was time to get the new crop countdown counter up and going. Next crop September 22nd. See you there.
Oh and if you pop back on Saturday I can show off the other 3 cards for this Fridays Christmas card class. I know you will love them and make sure that you plan to attend the next one.
Sunday, August 12, 2007
I have to admit I was amazed by how quickly I was able to create these cards. If you haven't ever tried creating a card from a kit you have to try just once. I created the sketch and after that making the card was a breeze. Just pull everything out of the bag and get to work - no picking or agonizing over matching colours or finding just the right embellishment. Creating has never been so incredibly easy.
And for those of you who are curious about the upcoming Christmas card class on August 24th, here is a sneak peek at two of the five card designs we are going to create. To find out about the other three you will have to attend class.
During this class you will get to try different tools and many different products like: glitter glaze, heat embossing, clear stamps and a few other cool techniques and products that I'm keeping a secret.
Like I said to find out more you'll just have to come to class. Class space is limited to register today.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer vacation and come back often to what other sneak peeks or interesting tidbit of information I will have for you to learn about.

Let me know what you think about my new countdown clock. I'd love to hear your opinions.

I just got the best thing delivered today. NEW INVENTORY!!!! Yup, it's feels like Christmas to me. So I thought I would give you a very quick listing of what came in and trust me there is great stuff for everyone. And eventually I will get some of it listed in the on-line store. So here goes....

I have added a sign up box to the right so that you can receive my newsletter. Don't worry your mailbox won't be clogged with tons of mail from me. I only send out 2 newsletters a month.
On the first of the month you can check out my Mini Project for the Month and then of course I totally expect you to run to my webstore and order. Mini Projects are created in very limited quantities. So if you like it order fast.
On the 15th of the month you can catch a peek at the products in my 2 kits clubs. One club "It all in the Cards" is designed just for card making and includes directions for completing 2 cards.
The other club, the Memory Kit Club, is designed for scrapbooking. Although to be honest it would be great for card making too.
Both newsletters tell you all about the great classes and crops I have planned for the month, new products and sales or product promotions. Trust me these newsletters are filled with valuable information. So think it over and then sign-up.

- First there is Shannon of K.I.S.S (Keep it Simple Scrapbooking) her crops look like they would be a fantastic time. I'm not sure I would get much accomplished at one of her crops. I would be way too busy checking out everything that she has going on.
- Okay and for the next one I'm going to break a rule. Technically Marcie doesn't have a business blog, but she should and very much like me sometimes she can't think of a thing to write about. Marcie of http://marciemodesigns.com/ designed my on-line store and my logo (you can't blame her for the rest of my website. That was all me.)and trust me I'll be putting her to work again in the future for more additions to my site.
- And I would like you to met Wendy, of Lickety Split Scrapbooks. She is new to blogging, but you will love what she has to say and her stories from the road of scrapbook conventions. Stop by her blog to see where are practically famous Wendy has been.
- And in a full circle this leads me back to my original tagger, Sandra at The Memory Workshop as she has dedicated time and expertise to this years Crop for Kids in Vancouver. Good luck to all of this years crop locations.

For everyone who couldn't attend. Sorry you missed a fantastic time. You will definitely need t plan this event in for next June. And again to everyone who was there thank you for attending and keep being the wonderfully creative people you are. Oh, and tell everyone one you know about the great time you had.

I just wanted to show everyone what a few of my creations for the class looked like.
This was a fun card. I used Lil Davis Glitter Glaze (it doesn't show very well in the photo), which gave a really neat effect on the white paper. And everyone got a great lesson is using their trimmers for measuring and scoring folds.
Yet another card. I have to admit even though the colour wheel puts orange and blue a complementary colours I am usually hesitant to use them. But I love the way it looks on this card. Fancy pants paper, DCWV ribbon and cardstock and then a Bazzill Chip Topper, which I very rarely put on a chip. I tend to mat and then mount on the card. This time we use foam pop dots. I really like the simplicity and clean design of this card.
The third card created for the class. A simple quick card with a masculine look. Feminine cards are much easier to create so I always try to do at least one masculine looking card. This one features Bazzill Horizon cardstock and Scenic Route papers.
The fourth card is shown below. And I won't waste time posting the 5th card as it doesn't photograph very well. But if your curious about future cards you'll either have to attend a class or check my blog and gallery for updates.
Keep creating and I'll have updates soon.
