Happy Canada Day!
The official start to a Canadian summer. What do you have planned? For my family it is the traditional trek to the in-laws to watch the Canada Day Parade and feast on all kinds of ethnic foods at an international food fair. After all the best way to celebrate Canada is to celebrate all the wonderful people that make this country to special and unique and to spend time with family and friends.
So my challenge to you this weekend is.... take part in at least one activity that celebrates Canada. There is lots to choose from: parades, concerts in the park, fireworks, food fairs, anything at brings us all together to be proud of who we are and where we live.
Make sure your camera is loaded or memory card is empty and get ready to make some memories.
I love summer!

Of course most people do, but I love the way that a sunny day seems to make everyone happier and more relaxed and that each day seems to hold so much more promise than any other time of the year. I love the fact that summer is so much less structured than the rest of the year. Now don't get me wrong I thrive on structure and routine, but every so often you need a day that doesn't require you to be anywhere at a specific time and that allows you to just go with it.

I think the feeling of freedom brought about by summer is something that should be reflected in scrapbooking. Yes, there are certain approaches or techniques that make your pages look better and more cohesive, but shouldn't there be joy and freedom in the creating. So the next time you sit down to work on a page or card strive for joy, happiness and satisfaction in what you have created. Scrapbooking shouldn't feel like work, it should feel like summer.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Wow! What a busy weekend. First I want to thank everyone that took part in my first ever two day crop. I also need to say a special thank you to my friend Lorie, who always supports me and my adventures. And of course to my Mom, who so willing to help with my children and be part of my moving company.

I had such a good time this past weekend and enjoyed catching up with everyone. I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves just as much. There were some amazing pages created this weekend. I saw a Halloween page featuring "Shrek" that was simply amazing. The talent and creativity in this awe inspiring group of women never ceases to amaze me. I can't for my next crop in September.

What's Next?

Well, while most people are getting ready for a relaxing summer I'm already planning for fall and making sure that I have all my events in place for the summer. For July and August, I have free crops planned, an altered clipboard class, card classes and of course I have a few other things up my sleeve. I'm just not ready to share all my plans just yet. Check the events calendar on my website for more informatin on what's up for summer.

Gearing up for summer.

I can't believe that the first day of summer is just around the corner and schoool is almost done for the year and before long I know I will hear a Mom or two saying they are ready for their children to head back and not too soon after that I know I will hear the kids saying the same thing.

I have a little over a week to finish getting ready for the 1st Annual Celebrate Summer 2-day Crop and I am sooooo excited to be organizing a 2-day event. I hope that I will continue to see this event grow over the years. My list of things to organize before the 23rd is growing. I have the final catering arrangements to be made, goodie bags to pack, demos items to complete, a store to pack up and of course I need to figure out which of my stuff I'm going to bring. I don't usually bring my own scrap stuff because I feel I need to accessible to my scrapbooking friends, since that is what they are paying for, but I figure in 19 hours of scrapbooking they will get tired of me checking on them and I will be told to go work on some of my own stuff.

I also wanted to share an altered clip board that I completed using my June Memory Club kit. It's a cute project and I am really enjoying the whole altering idea. I have plans to complete a clock, note books, glass bottles and probably whatever else I can get my hands on. Keep checking back to see whatelse I have altered and to find out what I have planned for the summer. Stop by http://www.rememberthisscrapbooking.ca often to see what is happening.
